THE ARTIST

Rith Bonrotanak, known as Rotanak, is a visionary Cambodian artist, architect, and actor whose distinctive artistic style-Particilization-fuses colorful and imaginative designs with Khmer sensibilities through precise hand-drawn images that transform everyday objects and iconic cultural symbols into intricate, layered compositions that invite all to explore the hidden beauty and richness of each object’s life history.

Rotanak holds degrees in Architecture, Urbanization, and English, grounding his multidisciplinary practice in both design and language.

In 2024, he debuted his solo exhibition The Particles, earning recognition from Prestige Magazine as a rising creative voice. In 2025, Rotanak gained further recognition with top awards in national art competitions and new Khmer-inspired works. As an actor, he received international acclaim after winning the 2025 Sundance Short Film Jury Award for ‘’Grandma Nai Who Played Favorites’’.
