THE ARTIST

Thun Dina Picture

Thun Dina was born in 1989 in Kampong Cham Province. In 2002, his family moved to Phnom Penh and at the age of 13, he found his penchant for Arts, capturing his childhood memories in the countryside through his paintings.

To follow his passion, he completed in Phnom Penh a training course in pencil drawing techniques at the Yamada School of Arts and graduated with a Bachelor of Art in oil painting at the Royal University of Fine Arts. He is currently pursuing a Master degree of Art in painting at the Royal Academy of Cambodia.

Thun Dina’s work is inspired by his childhood, living environment and especially the change from his rural life in Kampong Cham countryside where he grew up, to his new life in Phnom Penh where he settled for his studies.

His technique of multicolor paintings makes his work of art very appealing and unique in style and meaning. He uses a subtle blend of traditional and new techniques. Attracted by impressionism from the 19th century.

THE EXHIBITION

As a young artist, Thun Dina has been working hard for the past 10 years, not only to obtain the success of his art and exhibitions in Cambodia, but also to find his Destination!

”Finding Destination” is Thun Dina’s invitation to discover his personal way of seeking for his world through his artworks.
